New Years Resolutions!

Hello 2015! (well in two days), its crazy how fast the past year has gone and I know this next year is going to go even faster. I thought a new years resolution post would be a nice way to kick off my posts into the new year, especially because I am the queen of organisation. I've had flu, and my little blog has been neglected due to that...but I'm back and my content is going to keep coming from now on! It will be my blogs first birthday on January 25th which is crazy because I can't remember not having a blog, and I'm so proud of how far its come so a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me achieve this much! Enough of the cringe and on to my resolutions for 2015!

Dirty Looks HK Hair Extensions | Review

I'm back for Christmas Eve! I've been so poorly its ridiculous, while still suffering from an ear infection (at Christmas!!) I'm back to review my new favourite hair asset - the HK Hair Exensions by Dirty Looks. Dirty Looks are a hair extension brand based in the UK which cater for all different shades and lengths of hair desired. So, lets see how I got on...

Gel Nails with Fragrance Direct | W7 Nail Gel Salon Kit

So today is a little bit of a different post for me, its all about nails! I feel that around the festive season nails are a lot more important and its a must to have seasonal nails throughout the whole of December. I'm working with Fragrance Direct to show you all about the W7 Nail Gel Salon Kit which can be bought on their website for over half the retail price of £49.99! I've never tried any thing like this before, I've never actually had my nails done in a salon. This is because of hearing numerous horror stories and also my nails have been in good condition for a while now and I wouldn't want to ruin them (although I do long for a pair of pointed acrylics). Carry on reading for a mini step by step tutorial...

Update & New Products | Makeup Revolution and Blush Cosmetics!

I feel like I haven't been able to blog in a really long time, properly anyway! I've been hugely busy at the moment with coursework, but I am still trying to make as much time for my blog as possible! The winter lighting does not help at all either, so I apologise in advance for the quality of the photos in this post...I've had to use artificial lighting! Recently I've been sent a few new products to try out, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share the ones I've been using most frequently this past month.

Christmas Gift Guide | High End for Her & Huge Shopbop Discounts

Xmas gift guide for her

Hello everyone, so today I am bringing you the first of my Christmas gift guides from the series I am going to be typing away in the weeks running up to Christmas! I'm looking forward to this Christmas a lot more than the past few we've had as everything seems so festive at the moment (fairy lights, christmas shopping, dark nights) - it's crazy how fast this year has gone (a typical thing every blogger says, I know, but its so true!). The first Gift guide I've written for you all is a high end gift guide for 'her', I know the majority of my audience are female but everyone must have a special woman in their life whether it be their mum, best friend, sister, auntie, cousin, grandmother...and why not treat them this year? After all they do a lot for us!

SHOPBOP #Seasontoshine Holiday Gift Boutique | 4 Girly Christmas Ideas!

Shopbop #seasontoshine Holiday Gift Boutique

Shopbop #seasontoshine Holiday Gift Boutique by katherineallanach featuring a black and white tea pot
KATE SPADE WATCH // IPHONE CASE // CHECKED MUG // LEATHER BRACELET

My favourite stores to shop online on are those which have various different brands to chose from, big department stores with loads on offer. House of Fraser and Debenhams are my go to when it comes to making a big beauty order, but when it comes to clothes and accessories I'm not a huge fan. I've been using Shopbop for a good few months now, and I'm so impressed with it - especially the super fast delivery (which only takes 2-3 days from the USA!). Shopbop have just introduced their #SeasontoShine gift boutique, their favourite gift picks for everyone! Here are a few of my favourite items from the boutique...what will be yours?

Missguided have been on point this season, they pretty much always are, but everytime I go to find something I need (want) its always Missguided I head over to first, and I'm in love with this dress.

The Movember Challenge With THE GREEN PEOPLE | Skincare Interview With The Boyfriend, Gift Ideas For Him

It's that time of the year again when Movember is in full swing and men across the the world take part in raising awareness for testicular cancer, prostate cancer and mental health problems. This post is a little late, and most people taking part will be half way through the month of Movember now, but at the beginning of the month men (with their clean shaven faces) commit themselves to growing a moustache in order to raise awareness for a really important cause. Movember is a hugely successful program raising £346 million to this date in over 21 different countries, more information on the campaign can be found here.

I suppose you're wondering where my boyfriend (Tom) and his trustworthy skincare advice comes into this, The Green People have challenged a few other bloggers and myself to let the men in our lives try some of their grooming/skincare products and hopefully this will give some of you girls Christmas gift ideas for the men in your lives, whether it be your dad, boyfriend, husband, grandfather, uncle, brother. The Green People aim to cater their products for men to all age ranges, and don't forget girls - they have products for you as well (which are all completely cruelty-free!).

LASHES 101: Eldora Eyelashes | REVIEW!

You all know how much of a lash junkie I am, so Eldora Lashes were kind enough to send me four of their styles to try out. First impressions, the packaging is insane! I love how different it is from the usual pretty and girly eye lash packaging (don't get me wrong I love that too) but these feel really Christmassy and seen as though we've just had Halloween I feel like the packaging really matches the Autumnal season. Also its yellow and I love the colour yellow, I always have and I'm so pleased I was sent four different styles to try out! Here's what I think...

Your Space | Contacting PR Companies

The last time I did a 'Your Space' post on my blog (here), it ended up being pretty popular. So, taking the amount of page views it got into consideration, I've decided I'm going to do a few similar posts which hopefully will help a few of you out with different aspects of blogging. Today I'm talking about the big scary world of PR, emailing companies and getting your blog out there. Here are my best tips for working and connecting with brands in your favourite hobby...

LASHES 101: The Vintage Cosmetics Company | The Gracie Lashes For A Natural Look

Today I'm here to talk to you about the prettiest new lashes I've been wearing recently by the Vintage Cosmetics Company! I'm a big lashes girl, and trying out new lashes is probably one of my favourite products to try..simply because they're just so pretty (and I'm a packaging hoarder but ssssh)!

A Dream Closet | TAG!

My lovely blogger friend, Meg Bolderson, created the Dream Closet tag and tagged me and a few others to join in! I think this is the perfect excuse to put together a little wishlist of items that probably will never be owned by you (a sad thought I know!). There's so many designer bags and shoes which I am forever lusting after, but it seems slightly inappropriate to add them to a monthly wishlist because they're just too unrealistic, well for me anyway!

Updated Autumn/Winter Wishlist

This season I'm lusting after a bit of everything, I've definitely been more brave with my clothes recently by wearing more colourful patterned items but I'm getting to the more autumnal stage of the season now and its time for those dark reds and plums...

Student Saving | Loyalty Cards and Programmes, Transportation Saving

If there's one thing students love more than having a good time with their friends, its saving money. Money saving has always been a rather good 'hobby' of mine, as I've never stuck to a 'proper' part-time job. Babysitting and blogging are definitely my forte, and working in hospitality is definitely a no from me! Despite the contradictory designer purse by Michael Kors slapped bang in the middle of today's image, I'm here to talk to you about money saving and organising..

Joey Essex Volumising Powder | Review

This post only seems appropriate as TOWIE starts again tonight on ITV Be at 10pm..aaah an Ibiza special (although I'll have to catch up because I sleep way too early). I've not ever tried anything out of Joey Essex's range for girls, and being honest I am not one of those people who tends to use celebrity brands unless I truly love them. I received this in my Blog Yorkshire goodie bag back in July so I've had a good amount of time to test it out, here's my thoughts..

Makeup Revolution All Day & Night Eyeliner Collection | Review

The ever so kind Makeup Revolution sent me their new collection of 'All Day All Night' eyeliner pencils, which I believe are a small collection from their 'I Heart Makeup' collection. The collection comes in six different shades and promise to be smudge proof and water resistant. Eye pencils are that nifty makeup product which always seem to be sliding around my eyelids and panda eyes is never a good look, so testing these out was a treat as I don't tend to have that many good quality eyeliners...

October Wishlist | FT Zoella Beauty

I can't believe its already October, as every month its time for a new wishlist and time to say just how fast the previous month has gone. October for me means the start of everything exciting, Halloween, Bonfire, Christmas and I'm 18 aaah. I'm feeling a little bit of everything this month, so its not so much my standard black and white wishlist...

MAC Lipglass in Enchantress and Angel | My Thoughts

As a huge MAC fan and a lipstick fanatic in itself, its pretty weird to say that these are the only two MAC lipglasses I own. I'm lucky that where I live there's a nearby outlet store which sells all the brands from the Estee Lauder companies at a discounted price, or I probably would have never tried these out...

Rita Ora 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Pillowtalk

Rita Ora's 60 Second Nail Polish collection with Rimmel has been out for a while now, and seeing this pretty baby pink colour (shade - Pillowtalk) in store I just couldn't resist getting it. Despite this definitely not be an autumnal colour, there's definitely something about pastel nails that seems sort of classy, right?

A/W Fashion Haul | OASAP, Charity Shops, New Look etc

Today I am bringing you my latest fashion purchases for the A/W season, fashion has never really been something to come naturally to me, but I do absolutely love it. I'm still loving the fact that monochrome is back in this season (although in my eyes it can never leave), and a pair of jeans, nice top paired with a blazer/jacket is my go-to outfit on a daily basis.

Nanshy: The Blending Brush

©2014 Nanshy Limited - Instagram

So it wasn't until the Blog Yorkshire event in July that I had heard of Nanshy Makeup Brushes, and back then in July I was lucky enough to receive the blending brush in my goodie bag, and since then there hasn't been a day I haven't used it. Okay, so this sounds completely cliche but this truly has become my go to blending brush. Recently I was sent another blending brush by Nanshy, which was so nice to get because this is my favourite eye brush and as Tanya Burr says when you blend you should always have two brushes...

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation Review | Finally !!

Firstly, an apology on my behalf for the lack of content and social media presence at the moment! I know my posts aren't going up on their scheduled dates, but content on the wrong days is better than none at all right? I don't think I anticipated just how hard it would be and how busy I would be going back to school, turns out I just haven't had enough time on my hands to blog! Enough of that though, you all must know just how LONG this beauty has been on my wishlists for, and courtesy of Fresh Fragrance Cosmetics I was given the opportunity to try it out! I've browsed through Fresh's website numerous times before, simply because I am astounded by their FREE worldwide delivery (including tax duties!)...and of course they stock Makeup Forever HD Cosmetics which is perfect if you don't want to pay the Sephora delivery fees. I'm so pleased I opted for the NARS Sheer Glow and here's why..

The Classy Edit | FT Rebecca Minkoff

Sorry about the day late post, but I'm so busy with going back to school and sorting that side of my life out at the moment (unfortunately)! I thought I'd put together an outfit post as I've been loving the classier look right now. You all know that black and white are my go to when it comes to putting an outfit together, and I have no shame in saying that I am definitely not a colour girl when it comes to fashion and monochrome is my favourite ever trend..

A Current Skincare Favourite | Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

Aaaaah it's not often I find something which works a miracle for my dry skin, but the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream works wonders for me. The colour and consistency of the cream itself, and especially its sticky and thick feel isn't at all appealing, but if you can get past that then this really does make your skin smooth and removes all the dead/dry skin! I use this before I go to bed and then I wake up and its all sunk into my skin and I'm ready to go for another easy application of makeup day! - What do you think of this skincare product?

Beauty UK Cosmetics NEW Products | Review

Beauty UK Cosmetics are a brand I've seen across Youtube for a while now, recently they've brought out a load of new products and I was lucky enough to try a few out. Beauty UK are a drugstore brand which can also be found in Superdrug stores across the UK, I'm always on the hunt for new drugstore brands to try out for the obvious reason that they're a whole lot more affordable than high end brands, and I'm big on saving money right now as its coming up the Christmas (or in my opinion anyway!).

The Haircare Edit With Fragrance Direct

When it comes to my hair, taking care of it seems to get pushed aside and skincare, makeup and tanning all come before it. It seems silly but to be honest I've given up with my hair since I completely damaged it by dying it too much. Recently Fragrance Direct got in touch and asked if I wanted to work on a hair care edit with them, and of course I said yes! I spend ages browsing through Fragrance Direct quite regularly, purely because of their huge discounts on expensive and designer products! I've been using the products I chose for a good week now, and its time to share all my opinions on them...

Autumn Clothing Wishlist | HIGHSTREET

Autumn is on the horizon, and despite the sadness of the six week holiday ending and having to return back to education, I can't quite contain my excitement that the Autumn season is just around the corner. Autumn and winter are my favourite seasons, I especially love bonfire night it is one of my favourite times of the year! Autumn also comes with amazing fashion trends, and of course it is completely makeup appropriate to bring out all the dark red and purple lipsticks I own. But for now, here's my Autumn clothing picks...

Makeup Revolution Intense Salvation Lip Lacquers | Review

Lip lacquers are a product I would never really reach for while makeup shopping, but Makeup Revolution were kind enough to send me two of their Intense Salvation Lip Lacquers to try out. I'm not much of a gloss girl, but you'll definitely never see me not wearing a lipstick. Its therefore intriguing to find a product which claims to fall in between.

The Mom Jean Edit | Collab With FLAWLESSFLARE

Mom/Boyfriend jeans have been on super trend this past year, particularly when Topshop released their collection of the style jeans which sent many girls to the hype of them. They've always been an item of clothing I've wanted to wear and pull off, but never really thought I could. I took the bullet anyway when I saw the Blank NYC Denim Rolled Boyfriend Jeans on SHOPBOPI ordered the jeans in a waist size 27 inches, which I knew would be slightly too big for me as I am usually a 25, but as these were the smallest size they had due to it being a sale item, I assumed it would be okay anyway. Aaah I was wrong, they were too big for me (despite being ridiculously comfortable), so I got my friend Phoebe from FlawlessFlare to model them for me as they were a perfect fit on her...

MAC Lipstick Collection

A MAC lipstick collection is a post I've wanted to do for a while, but as I only have six I though it seemed a bit small compared to the fellow bloggers of the beauty community! But MAC lipsticks are my all time favourite lipsticks and although I don't have many I still wanted to share my small collection of my FAVOURITE lipsticks. There are many reasons why I love MAC lipsticks, first off the formula's are all amazing and super long lasting no matter what finish they're in, most lipsticks which aren't matte finishes from the drugstore never seem to last for me so finding a lipstick which is of a cremesheen/satin finish which stays on my lips for a good few hours solid is a huge bonus. Secondly, the packaging. I love the simplicity of the bullets and the contrast of the silver against the black..I definitely think these are classy looking lipsticks.

A Positive Review On Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer...?!

I don't think I can say I've seen one positive review on Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer, this product has been out a while and in fact recently Maybelline brought out another primer from their Baby Skin range, their Baby Skin Instant Fatigue Blur Primer. I can't say I have tried enough primers out to discover whether or not they actually work and are worth the investment however this was given to me by a friend so I thought it was rude not to try it out.

The Perfect Autumn/Winter Ankle Boots | DUOBOOTS

Last week DuoBoots UK got in touch with me and asked if I wanted to chose a pair of boots or shoes from their online collection to see what I thought of them, and how could I say no?! I've never heard of DuoBoots before, so I had no expectations when I first browsed their website but overall I have to say I'm pretty impressed..

The Body Shop Body Butter in Passionfruit..Discontinued?

Its quite fair to say that when it comes to body butters and creams, The Body Shop's Body Butters are my all time holy grail product. When I say you wake up with legs as smooth as baby's skin, it couldn't be further from a lie.

Travel This Summer with SHOPBOP!

It probably seems late to do a 'travel essential' post but what does that matter when there's four weeks of summer left? August is supposed to be the hottest month after all, and is when most people tend to go on their holidays! Although I'm not going away myself this summer, I thought I would bring together a fashion guide of travel essentials for those of you lucky enough to go away this summer..

Makeup Revolution London Pro Hygiene Brush Cleaner and Shampoo

Last week I was sent Makeup Revolutions two brand new products to try out, their 'Pro Hygiene Anti Bacterial Brush Shampoo and Brush Cleaner'. After being seriously in to makeup for around a year, it was about time I got round to getting myself a brush cleaner. These two products are the first I've got to tend to my brush collection, as I've just been washing them with shampoo and conditioner (probably not the best thing to do!).

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation | Review

Finding the perfect foundation is an extremely rare thing, and if I'm honest I don't think it exists. The majority of us are so obsessed by the idea of a flawless face, that we believe there is a foundation out there which can compare to the photos and campaigns portrayed in the media..(hopefully in a few weeks/months/years I'll be able to disagree entirely with what I just said after finding a holy grail foundation, but for now I'm going to keep on searching).

July Favourites | Non-Beauty

With the goal to write more lifestyle posts this summer, I'm going to tell you my non-beauty favourites from July....

1. TUMBLR-  Tumblr is one of those websites I come and go from, I'll either completely obsess over it for a few months or not touch it at all. This past month I've been going on Tumblr for hours on end because its such an inspiring site for blog and Instagram posts and I find it way less confusing than Pintest (which is probably something I should be using as a blogger). I re-vamped my Tumblr this week using one of the themes by Classy-Lovely and I haven't stopped re-blogging things since. I'd like to increase my follower base on Tumblr so hopefully you can follow me, but its just a creative place for photography ideas and something anyone can easily become addicted too. My Tumblr is KatherineRosieBlog.

Summer Wishlist | August

July has absolutely flown by, the last few weeks before Summer went so quickly (gladly) and now its already come to the end of the first week of the six week holidays. I can tell its going to only feel like tomorrow by the time I am writing my September wishlist, but for now its on to August. The weather in Britain has untypically been a sauna these past few weeks, and when they said 'heat wave' I don't think I anticipated how long it would go on for (hopefully I won't speak too soon). I've never been a huge fan of the sun, its tiring and as I don't tan I pretty much moan in any hot temperature scenario. I don't have an abroad holiday booked for this year, but seen as though my cute eleven year old brother saved up to get us a bigger paddling pool I don't really mind - as long as I can cool myself down whenever I need too, it doesn't matter where I am.

ESPA Exfoliating Body Polish | Review

ESPA are a brand I had never heard of until I attended the Blog Yorkshire event on Saturday 12th July at Revolution Bar in Leeds. I am already completely in love with the brand, so much that I emailed them to let them know how much their products work for me. While getting a skin consultation at the counter, the girls who worked there asked myself and my friend Phoebe from FlawlessFlares to chose which smell we preferred from two different cotton pads. This was to determine which goodie bag we would be receiving in relation to our skin type. Of course I was given the one for dry and sensitive skin, and in my bag was a 100ml tube of their Exfoliating Body Polish - I was shocked we weren't given the sample size and were given the full size retailing at £18.50!

Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick Shade 30 | Review

The Rimmel collection by Kate Moss has been circulating the beauty community for years now, but I've never bitten the bullet until recently. From watching Zoella's Vidcon vlogs, she was rocking the matte finish in the shade 107 which seems to be quite popular amongst blogging girls. I've heard really good things about these lipsticks, and while I've never been a fan of the formulation of Rimmel's lipsticks I thought I'd see if these were any different and whether they've upped their game since my younger makeup days.

SUMMER FITSPIRATION | Fitness, Exercise, Clothing & Motivation

Tumblr

Hearing the word 'exercise' is a word which makes the majority of us clench, reminding us we should be spending a few hours in the gym instead of lounging in front of the TV watching Netflix all day. Its not been until literally about a month and a half a go that I actually decided to give exercise a proper go and really try and maintain a healthy weight as now I'm getting older I can feel my metabolism slowing down - already. One thing I think which is important to stress is that you do not need to go to the gym to work out, I would personally love to go to the gym but the expenses of the gym itself and travel to get there just don't work out for me, so I'm stuck at home using what I've got around me to try and actually make a difference to my body. I'm not fitness expert, so I wouldn't worry if what I am doing is different to you as everyone has their own preferences.
